COOK: Over the weekend we made this Warm Farro Bow COOK: Over the weekend we made this Warm Farro Bowl with Roasted Vegetables and a Kale Pesto Vinaigrette from @joanneeatswell.

This was a great cold weather dish that was full of flavor. Instead of making our own kale pesto we bought a jar of basil pesto and mixed it with some olive oil. It was easy to make and very tasty. The leftovers made a great lunch today!
EAT: {Yorktown Heights} While my daughter and I we EAT: {Yorktown Heights} While my daughter and I were at the @jeffersonvalley earlier today she wanted something to eat. While the food court options are pretty sparse right now, on the weekends there are always several food trucks in the parking lot by the main lower entrance to the mall.

When she saw the @putsomemeatonyourbones food truck she had to get The Evil One: a mac & cheese grilled cheese. She couldn’t stop raving about how good this sandwich was! I of course had to have a bite and with 6 cheeses, this grilled cheese is super cheesy!

I’ll have to come back with my son, the only meat eater in the house. I know he’ll love the BBQ Pulled Chicken Grilled Cheese.

Put Some Meat On Your Bones is a great food option when you’re at the mall. They have a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches (and some quesadillas too) and are at the the mall Tuesday through Sunday.

Check out this list of Westchester County restaurants that offer great family dinner specials. It’s a great way to support local but not spend a fortune. With a 12 and almost 15 year old, I know how expensive eating out can be!

If you know of a restaurant that has a family dinner deal please send me a DM so I can add them to the posts!

EAT: {White Plains} @papifastitalian in White Plai EAT: {White Plains} @papifastitalian in White Plains is a great place to get fast-casual, made to order Italian.

They make Roman-style Pinsas, pasta, wraps and more. We recently ordered takeout and enjoyed a variety of their dishes including fried ravioli, a Margherita Pinsa, Cacio E Pepe pasta, a Caesar salad and mini Nutella Bombolini.

They have so many vegetarian food options and everything was great!

Sadly, I had to delete some restaurants that closed and take off some other restaurants that are closed for the winter season. Check out the newly updated list that features restaurants that offer some type of dinner special.

And stay tuned because later this week I’m posting restaurants that offer family dinner deals, none of which are on this list! Check back often, as I will continue to update the list!

I finally made the TikTok Feta Pasta that’s been I finally made the TikTok Feta Pasta that’s been all over social media. It was super easy and tasty (although the family voted that they prefer Gigi Hadid’s Pasta dish). And because it’s a snow day and pasta isn’t enough carbs, I made @pinchofyum No-Knead Bread.

EAT/DRINK: {North Salem} Have you ever stumbled up EAT/DRINK: {North Salem} Have you ever stumbled upon a place (restaurant, shop, or in this case a coffee shop/cafe) that you didn’t even know existed and then fallen in love with it?

This is what happened to me with Hayfields Market in North Salem. We don’t get to this part of Westchester County very often. However, when our daughter went skating at Brewster Ice Arena and we needed a place to hang out for a little bit, a quick search and we found @hayfieldsmarket.

This is the prettiest coffee shop I’ve ever seen. There’s a flower shop with beautiful arrangements made by @amys_flowers_ny as well as housewares for sale.

And of course there’s coffee, tea, a breakfast/lunch menu and a case filled with delicious looking treats that are made both in-house and delivered from local establishments and/or the city.

I loved that there was plenty of seating including several outside socially distant fire pits/heaters.

I enjoyed an iced chai latte and the Green Giant wrap (roasted veggies, mozzarella, mixed greens and balsamic).

I’m surprised this place isn’t talked about more and I hadn’t heard of it. It’s really such a beautiful space with good food and beverages! I can’t wait to come back soon!

EAT: {Port Chester} This month, many restaurants EAT: {Port Chester} This month, many restaurants in Port Chester are offering special deals to customers. Since indoor dining opened only recently, many restaurants have lost a lot of business, or even closed. It’s especially important now to eat local and support these restaurants. #EAT4PC

We drove down to Port Chester and dined at @maryannspc. While we didn’t take advantage of their February restaurant special, we did enjoy a delicious lunch.

We chose Mary Ann’s because they had a large vegetarian menu. Plus, we hadn’t had Mexican food in a long time! I enjoyed the Sabras combo plate which included a cheese relleno, a black bean enchilada and a guacamole taco served with rice and beans. My husband had the Bean, Cheese and Guacamole Burrito baked with red sauce and cheese and my daughter had the Burrito Bowl with roasted veggies.

On the weekends Mary Ann’s has a bottomless brunch, which we did not partake in. But my daughter enjoyed a virgin pina colada.

Lots of safety measures are in place. The menu is viewed via a QR code on your phone. A carafe of water with disposable cups is placed on the table. We haven’t been dining indoors very much. But we purposely planned our visit close to the restaurant opening to avoid crowds. We were the only ones in the restaurant during our visit.

We don’t get down to Port Chester very often. However, we realized there are so many restaurants down here that we need to check out!
