June 4 (Bedford) I’ve Tried Being Nice Book Launch with Ann and Denis Leary at the Bedford Playhouse. 7 PM. $15/person. Ann Leary is the New York Times bestselling author of the novels, THE FOUNDLING, THE CHILDREN, THE GOOD HOUSE, OUTTAKES FROM A MARRIAGE, and the memoir, AN INNOCENT, A BROAD. June 11 (Bedford) Mental Wellness in the Face of Climate Change at the Bedford Playhouse. 7 PM. Tickets: $15/each. Fear, despair, uncertainty—these are all common emotions when contemplating the fate of our warming planet. How do we cope, stay hopeful, and work towards solutions to climate change? Join us for a discussion on how to navigate these emotions led by three mental health professionals who actively focus on climate change in their practices. Discussion topics will include: climate triggers and how they make us feel, eco-anxiety and coping strategies, and ways to cultivate hope and participate in positive change. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and engage in Q&A with the panelists. Enjoy this fabulous outdoor scavenger hunt for whimsical and adorable Fairy Houses hidden among the blooming flowers and trees at Locust Grove! Each Fairy House celebrates a different heirloom flower or historic tree that grows on our gorgeous property. Strap on your wings and crown, and fly on over to this beloved annual family event! Fairy House happens every weekend in June. Tickets are non-refundable or transferable unless the event is canceled by Locust Grove.
June 1-2 (White Plains) White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival at Tibbits Park. 10 AM – 5 PM. Free admission. The WPOAF has brought diverse displays of fine arts and crafts to tree-lined Tibbits Park in the heart of bustling downtown White Plains for over 50 years! Paintings, photography, ceramics, glasswork, jewelry, textiles, and much more are all on display. The festival is a great place to experience art and shop for one-of-a-kind gifts, jewelry, and home décor. The event also features emerging artists, the artwork of our scholarship winners, a free children’s art workshop, and unique food vendors.
June 1 (Katonah) Morning Farm Chores at Muscoot Farm. 8:30 AM – 10 AM. Become a farmer for a day and join our staff as you feed, clean, and care for our animals! Pre-registration is required; $25 for a group of two; available to children ages 6 – 14. Participants will meet at Muscoot’s Reception Center with sturdy, closed-toe footwear.

June 2 (Croton-on-Hudson) Village of Croton-on-Hudson Summerfest at Grand Street & Old Post Road South. 1 PM – 6 PM. The Village of Croton-on-Hudson will host its 36th Annual Summerfest street fair on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024. From 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the streets of the Upper Village (Grand Street/Old Post Road South) will be filled with live music, entertainment, delicious food & over 100 street vendors.
June 3 (Katonah) Park and Read at Muscoot Farm. 11 AM – 11:45 AM. Park and Read is a read-aloud program aimed at fostering a love for reading in children ages 3-6, taking place in picturesque Westchester County Parks. While registration is not required, it is strongly encouraged as walk-in availability may be limited.
June 6 (Yonkers) Barks & Brews at Ridge Hill. 6 PM – 8 PM. Grab your furry friends and make your way to the Ridge Hill Dog Park on the first Thursday of the month for the doggone happiest hour of all. Enjoy beer from The Bronx Beer Hall, games, dog treats and more! This event is subject to cancellation due to weather. June 7 (Yonkers) Free First Fridays: The Muses at the Hudson River Museum. 5 PM – 8 PM. Free. Celebrate Pride Month and dance the night away with The Muses, a DJ duo helmed by Jack James and Daniel Walters that specializes in Parisian funk, house, disco, and underground pop. The Muses has recently been featured on Apple TV and Netflix, and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum, and Lincoln Center. Enjoy our current exhibitions, as well as a bilingual art workshop with Carolina Amarillo. Cash bar.
June 8-9 (Rye) Arts in the Park at Rye Park. 11 AM – 5 PM. Free to attend – but please register for a ticket. We have gathered over 50 different Artists which all include originally hand-crafted Artwork. There will be a vast collection of art showcasing these artists and there best most original hand-crafted items. Items such as wood carvings, portraits, blown glass, acrylic art, jewellery and more. In addition to all the fine Art there will be food vendors and live music. This is a free event for the public, so we encourage you to stop by and support our local artists. If you plan on attending this event you must register for a ticket. Tickets are free but you still must have a ticket to enter the event space. Artists will be selling there items so please remember to bring cash so you can show some support.
June 9 (Katonah) Family Garden Party! at Lasdon Park. 12 PM – 3 PM. $15/person, under 5 free.
Join us for an exciting day of family fun, music, and adventure to celebrate National Garden Week at Lasdon, Westchester’s Public Garden. Take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens of Lasdon Park, filled with specimen plantings, flowers, shrubs, and trees. Our spring exhibit, “Patterns in Nature,” will be open and included with your ticket purchase, afterward children will be engaged with a number of fun activities related to the exhibit. In addition to this, the Westchester County Veterans Museum’s newest exhibit, “The American Experience during WWII,” will also be open for all to enjoy. Guests can also take a short hike down the newly renovated and expanded Dino Trail, where they will be welcomed by old friends and a new one! Animal Embassy will be on hand with some fuzzy and slimy friends to teach children about the wonders of animals. Families can pot-up and bring home their own plant with members of the 9th District Garden Club! For an additional fee, children can have their faces painted with various garden themes. Tickets include all this and more! After exploring, why not relax on the lawn and be entertained by Music Together while enjoying a soft-serve ice cream delight from American Swirl? Box lunches can be pre-ordered from LMNOP bakery or bring your own picnic lunch.
June 9 (Katonah) Animal Interactions at Muscoot Farm. 1 PM – 2 PM. Have you been wanting a more up-close view of our animals? Join us for a private experience and enter one of our enclosures where you will see, touch, and learn more about an animal of the farmer’s choice! Due to the nature of this program, pre-registration is required and only available to adults and kids ages 8+; tickets are $25 (includes two tickets). All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please meet at the Reception Center upon arrival with sturdy, closed-toe footwear.
June 9 (Katonah) Soundscapes at Caramoor. 12 PM. Free. Our grounds are open! Come open your ears at Caramoor’s Soundscapes, a day to explore our sound art collection and discover a world of aural fascinations. Listen to Rivers are our Brothers, an electronic song cycle on ecological responsibility told from the point of view of the land, composed by Majel Connery. Experience Darian Donovan Thomas’ Safe Space installation, as well as a live set from the genre-bending composer and multi-instrumentalist. Try your hand at the theremin during workshops with the New York Theremin Society. Wander through our lush, enchanted gardens with your ears awakened anew. While you explore Caramoor’s innovative sound art collection, our distinguished sound artists will be on hand to share their creations for a deep sensory experience the whole family will enjoy.
June 15-16 (Scarsdale) Run Wild at Greenburgh Nature Center. Sign up with your friends and family and see who can conquer the track the fastest. Run Wild is back with a bang, offering another exciting 1.25-mile forest run and obstacle course through our stunning preserve. Picks & Pickleball is presented by the Village of Briarcliff Manor and is produced by River Towns Music Group. Cross Court Pickleball is running the pickleball tournament. Picks & Pickleball will feature beer and wine from Captain Lawrence, a selection of food trucks, local vendors, and kids’ activities and entertainment. Live music will highlight talent from the region. The pickleball portion will include a friendly tournament and opportunities for kids and adults to pick up a paddle. The event is FREE to enter. That was when he heard his first Hot Tuna album and decided he had to learn how to make music himself. It was the music and style of playing of Rock and Roll Hall of famer Jorma Kaukonen of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna fame that snagged his soul. Fast forward many years and David finds himself teaching alongside Jorma Kaukonen and teaching his own workshops at Jorma’s Fur Peace Ranch. Over the years he has learned from, taught with and played alongside Jorma, Oteil Burbidge of The Allman Brothers and Dead & Co., David Bromberg and many other accomplished musicians. His passion lies in performing and teaching. When he’s not teaching at Jorma’s Fur Peace Ranch or giving online lessons, he is performing on Martha’s Vineyard and elsewhere as much as time will allow.

June 16 (Katonah) Father’s Day Hike at Lasdon Park. 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM. Free. Celebrate Dad with a morning on the trail. This hike is for families with children of all ages. We will meet at the entrance to the Trail of Honor located next to the parking lot, leaving promptly at 10:30. Hike will be easy with gentle slopes about .5 to 1 mile long. Don’t forget to pack bug spray, water, and snacks. Registration is recommended but walk-ins are welcome. Rain cancels. Please wear walking/hiking shoes. This hike is not stroller friendly. Baby carriers are recommended for young children just learning to walk and non-walkers.
