Currently October 2016

Currently

October is here.  This week my kids have enjoyed two days off for Rosh Hashanah.  Next week they have three days off from school for Columbus Day and Yom Kippur.  Although they’ve only been in school for a month, these days off are much appreciated.  Their schedules are jam-packed with all kinds of activities so it’s nice for them to have a day to relax.  I’m linking up with Anne and her co-host Jacqui for the monthly Currently link-up.  Here is what I’m currently:

Pumpkin Spice

Cheers-ing – Pumpkin Spice!  I think people tend to either love it or hate it.  I’m on the loving it side.  I’ve been embracing the limited time I have to enjoy it all!

Organizing – It’s time to go through my closet and do the shoe and clothes switch out and clean out.  I have to get rid of the sandals that won’t make it another summer and see what fall clothing I want/need to buy.

Dreaming – of our family cruise!  I feel like I’ve been talking about it forever and the time has finally come!  We leave Saturday to cruise to Halifax and St. John’s Bay in Canada.  I’m really looking forward to the relaxing, quality family time we’ll get to have.

Workout clothes

Buying – workout clothes.  Last month I joined the gym as a birthday present for myself.  I felt it was finally time that I got in shape.  Since I haven’t worked out in ages, I don’t have a lot of clothes.  I’ve been shopping around and trying to buy just some solid capris and leggings and a variety of tops.  As I continue to work out more I’ll keep adding to my collection!

Piano Playing

Listening – to my son playing the piano while I’m typing this!  He started lessons this summer and has just taken off with the playing!  He’s really good about practicing without being reminded.  It amazes me how far he’s come in just a couple of months!

  1. I’m mixed on the whole pumpkin thing. I don’t hate it. But I’m not a fiend about it either. Those pumpkin spice lattes are pretty tasty though. 🙂 Have fun on your cruise! I’ve never been on one before but someday, hopefully! They sound so relaxing. Cute workout clothes do make a difference. My main form of exercise of swimming, so buying a cute suit and towel and shoes and so on, helped. Or at least made me feel guilty about the spending the money, so I swam. LOL! Whatever it takes!

    • Thanks Tanya! I’m pretty sure we’ll have a great time. We love cruises! I think new clothing is motivating for me more than spending the money on the gym. That guilt has never motivated me to work out before. I haven’t swam laps in forever. It seems like a great workout though!

  2. I am SO jealous of that cruise! I have always wanted to visit the coast of Canada – maybe I should consider traveling by boat! 🙂 Thanks for linking up!!

  3. I love buying workout clothes…totally a legit motivation to work out more 🙂 Enjoy the family cruise!
